VINEYARDS
On June 1, 2001 Hess Family Estate took over the
Finca Colome with an area of 39,000 hectares or 96,000 acres. It
is our intention to have 150 hectares (370 acres) of vineyards
and crops.
Bodega Colome currently has in three different locations 135
hectares (334 acres) under cultivation of which about 4 hectares
(10 acres) were planted in 1854. Seven hectares (17 acres) of
vines are aged between 80 and 120 years. The original grafts
from vines pre-pyllorexa French Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon
now grow their own roots.
Varieties: Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Pinot Noir
and Chardonnay.
